My President is Black...and I'm Proud!!!

I'm sure all of you are aware that last week on November 4th, Barack Obama was named Preseident-Elect. That whole night a group of friends and I watched as the state counts went up for both Obama and McCain. We were all so nervous because we voted for Obama and we wanted him to win. At 11:55pm, we all jumped up (in the restaurant we were in) and shouted for joy because we werso excited about Obama's victory. We couldn't believe that he had won finally!! The next day I recieved a chain email from one of the members at my church back home in California. It stated that Obama was a member of the anti-christ and that we as black people should be ashmed of ourselves if we voted for him. I was in shock to read this email, I couldn't believe that someone would actually say that about Obama. Wow. As I continued to read the email, the writer stated that because Obama supported gay rights, abortion, and supposedly silencing the truth, that he was against everything this country stands for. By having this statement, then it would be safe to say that the majority of political leaders are the anti-christ, because of their support. The writer obviously ignored all of the positive aspects Obama stands for and how he wants CHANGE within our country, specifically helping out the middle classes. I think this writer over analyzed Obama's postion to society. And although I am against those three things Obama supports, we cannot ignore all the positive things that Obama supports. I think Obama wants to be able to appeal and relate to everyone. He wants everyone in America to be happy. I can definetly say for certain that I am very happy that he is president, and I don't believe he is the anti-christ. P.S. MY PRESIDENT IS BLACK, AND I AM PROUD

I can totally understand the basis of people that think Obama is the anti-christ, however faulty their rationale is, because he has a lot of the same characteristics as the anti-christ. This man has had an almost cult like influence on not only the US but the entire world. The world rejoiced when Barack Obama was announced President-elect and it was no longer doubted what his campaign of change had accomplished. When this man speaks, people hang on to his every word. People fluck to him as if he were a celebrity. Few presidents accomplish such a feat as this, if any. However, most should know that many political leaders embody the same presence, stances, and messages that Barack Obama does which would make them all anti-christ-like. As someone who has done alot of research and in depth study into Revelation and anti-christ theories, I know Barack Obama is not the anti-christ but he does have a lot of the traits that the anti-christ will. I too am proud that my President is black but it is more important to realize that he is educated and qualified first, and than Black because anybody can be Black, but not every Black is qualified to be President.

I've been hearing about these false emails since Barack Obama announced his intent to run for president last year.
First of all, gay rights and abortion is NOT an indicator of one's moral character; it is an indicator of one's politics.
Secondly, what exactly is a "member of the anti-Christ" and what do these members do? Some of these so-called Christians need to check their understanding of the faith because they're starting to make Christians like me look bad.
Thirdly, the email is clearly written by a racist. Someone who irrationally (and sometimes violently) hates people is not a credible source of any type of fair information.
Barack Obama is not the anti-christ nor "a member" of it. Barack Obama is the president elect.

I too have heard recent attacks on Obama in regards to him being the anti- Christ. However, this does not surprise me. One of the main reasons that Obama emphasized Change in his campaign is because as a society we as individuals will have to change our mindsets and viewpoints on various issues. Obama’s presidency signifies more than just a Black man being in office. Rather it is a catalyst for a new age of thinking. The person who wrote the letter calling Obama the ant- Christ has not yet adapted to change. His closed mind way of thinking reflects an astonishing number of people who refuse to accept change. This new presidency will be interesting to track because it will foster a new set of ideas and force people to have open minds about the changes that will come to this country.
